What is the EDGE grant? A living tracker (September 2026)
EDGE will replace PSG, EDG and MRA in 2H2026. What's officially confirmed, what's still unknown, and what to do if you're mid-application — updated as facts land.
Published 11 Jul 2026 · Facts checked 4 Sept 2026
The short answer: Singapore is consolidating its three workhorse business grants — the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) — into a single scheme called EDGE, launching in the second half of 2026. The existing grants stay open until EDGE launches. Detailed rules aren't published yet.
This page is a tracker, not a hot take: every line below is labelled confirmed (official page, fetched and dated) or unconfirmed (reported by third parties, not yet on an official page). We re-sweep the official pages and date every change — because during a grant transition, yesterday's guide is quietly wrong. Last full sweep: 4 September 2026.
Confirmed, as of 4 September 2026 (official sources)
- EDGE consolidates PSG + EDG + MRA. Enterprise Singapore's Budget 2026 page: "EDGE streamlines the Market Readiness Assistance (MRA), Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), and Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)" into one scheme.
- Timing: 2H2026, with a hard promise about the interim. The official PSG page states: "EDGE launches in 2H2026. Existing grants (EDG, MRA, PSG) remain accessible until launch." Translation: PSG applications submitted now still run under PSG rules.
- PSG got more AI-relevant on its way out. Budget 2026 lists PSG as enhanced — "Expanded to support more digital and AI-enabled solutions, so that every firm, regardless of size, can access tools."
- EDGE will be open to non-SMEs — a real widening. Enterprise Singapore's Budget 2026 page, on EDGE: "The scheme will be available to all Singapore businesses, including non-SMEs." PSG today is SME-shaped (30% local equity, SME size limits), so this is the first confirmed structural difference between PSG and its successor, and it matters if you were previously too big to qualify.
- PSG's current terms, re-checked today: "Up to 50% of eligible costs for local SMEs" and "Receive up to $30,000". These are the rules your application runs under until EDGE launches.
- MRA is enhanced through the transition. Budget 2026: "From 1 April 2026, support for SMEs will be enhanced up to 70% till 31 March 2029, while the S$100,000 grant cap will be extended." And: "From 2H 2026, companies can also receive support to deepen activities in existing overseas markets, beyond entering new ones. Eligibility will be extended to local non-SMEs, with up to 50% support for eligible costs." Support levels are not being quietly cut on the way into EDGE.
- The adjacent money is dated and real: the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit closes for claims on 30 November 2026, and the Enterprise Innovation Scheme adds a 400% tax deduction on qualifying AI expenditure (capped S$50,000 per YA) for YA2027–2028 — both official.
- A new "Champions of AI" programme will "back leading companies with the ambition to use AI to transform their businesses comprehensively." Details pending.
Reported but NOT yet confirmed on an official page
Treat the following as consultant-sourced until an official page carries it (we'll move each line up the moment one does):
- EDGE will be activity-based (you apply for an activity — digitalisation, overseas expansion, capability building — rather than picking a scheme).
- EDG gains a dedicated "AI Development Path" for custom AI transformation projects.
- Application flow details, pre-approved solution treatment, and whether PSG's S$30k annual cap concept survives into EDGE.

What this means in practice
If you were planning a PSG purchase: the window is still open — the official pages continue to state that existing grants "remain accessible until launch". But 2H2026 is now two-thirds gone with no announced launch date, and Enterprise Singapore has not yet published an EDGE scheme page at all (we check; it still returns a 404). If the numbers already work (run them here, and check the vendor markup first), applying sooner beats gambling on transition timing.
The nearest hard deadline has nothing to do with EDGE. The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit expires on 30 November 2026 — under three months away, and unaffected by the transition. If you have unclaimed SFEC, that clock is the one to watch, not EDGE's.
If your project is custom (EDG-shaped): same logic — EDG remains accessible until EDGE launches, and its rules are stable ("There are no pre-approved vendors for the EDG").
If you can wait until 2027: you'll likely apply under EDGE with rules nobody outside the government has seen. Waiting is only a strategy if your project genuinely isn't ready — a fuzzy hope that EDGE will be more generous is not evidence. (It could equally arrive with tighter definitions; nobody knows. That's the honest state of play.)
If you're mid-application when EDGE launches: no official transition-handling rules have been published yet. This is the single most important unknown on this page; it's the first thing we'll date-stamp when it lands.
Why we're tracking this so closely
Search data shows owners are already asking transition questions — "psg grant end date" now autocompletes on Google in Singapore. Meanwhile most of the content answering those questions is written by firms selling grant-application services. This tracker is our standing alternative: dated facts, labelled unknowns, and updates the day the schemes actually move.
Don't refresh this page — we'll email you. The moment Enterprise Singapore publishes EDGE details, subscribers to The Red Dot Report get the breakdown in that week's issue: what changed, what it means mid-application, and the new math. That's the entire reason the newsletter exists during a transition year.
FAQ
Is EDGE live yet? No. As of 4 September 2026 the official PSG, EDG and MRA pages all still say "EDGE launches in 2H2026. Existing grants (EDG, MRA, PSG) remain accessible until launch." There is no EDGE scheme page on enterprisesg.gov.sg yet.
Should I rush a PSG application before EDGE? Rush, no. Prioritise, maybe — if your project was already worth doing under current rules. The stacking math (PSG + SFEC before 30 Nov + EIS from YA2027) is in the stacking guide.
Will pre-approved vendor lists survive into EDGE? Unknown. The National AI Impact Programme (March 2026) committed to growing the AI-enabled share of pre-approved solutions, which suggests the curation model continues — but that's inference, and it's labelled as such.
Where should I check primary sources myself? enterprisesg.gov.sg (PSG/EDG/MRA/Budget-2026 pages), gobusiness.gov.sg (application portal), singaporebudget.gov.sg (EIS). Every claim above links to one of them in Sources.
Changelog
- 4 Sep 2026 — Full re-sweep of all official sources; every figure re-fetched. No change to EDGE's status: still 2H2026, still no launch date, and no EDGE scheme page exists on enterprisesg.gov.sg (404). Added one newly-noticed confirmed fact — EDGE "will be available to all Singapore businesses, including non-SMEs", the first confirmed structural difference from SME-only PSG. Added PSG's current terms (up to 50%, up to $30,000) re-verified today. Corrected the MRA line: the non-SME 50% extension is stated on the Budget 2026 page (tied to deepening existing markets from 2H2026), not on the MRA page. Removed the claim that "PSG's grant year caps reset 1 April" — it could not be verified on any official page today, so it should not have been stated as fact.
- 11 Jul 2026 — Tracker published. Confirmed: EDGE consolidation + 2H2026 timing + grants-accessible-until-launch; PSG AI expansion; MRA 70%; SFEC 30 Nov deadline; EIS AI 400%/S$50k YA2027–28. Unconfirmed: activity-based structure, AI Development Path, cap treatment, mid-application transition rules.
